Sehoy Thrower

Sehoy ThrowerSehoy Thrower currently works as the Environmental Protection Specialist for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. She grew up learning some traditional plant uses from her Creek family, and eventually went on to study ecology in school. Along with protecting the Tribe’s natural resources, her job involves teaching traditional ecological knowledge from a cultural and scientific perspective to the youth. She is happy to share land-use history of the Poarch Creek Indians and how that shaped their culture and knowledge of medicinal plant uses to this day.
